If you are starting with sourdough, you probably feel overwhelmed by keeping track of feedings, peak times, and changes in your starter. That is exactly why I created this free sourdough starter tracker printable.

What is a sourdough starter tracker printable?

A sourdough starter tracker printable is a simple, ready-to-use template that helps you keep track of your sourdough starter as you build a new, healthy, and active starter.

Why use a sourdough starter tracker?

When you create a new sourdough starter, this tracker helps you:

  • Stay on schedule so you never forget when you last fed your starter.
  • Notice patterns by seeing how long it takes your starter to double or peak.
  • Reduce stress because, instead of guessing, you will have notes to guide you.
  • Build confidence, especially during the first week when things feel uncertain.

Think of it like a "baby book" for your starter, where you are recording its bubbles, growth, and peak times.

What is inside the free printable

This one-page template is designed with beginners in mind. It includes:

  • A 10-day starter log with space for date, time, mixing/feeding instructions, and notes.
  • A section to record starter activity (bubbles, peak times).
  • Room for extra notes, perfect for writing down questions or reminders.

How to use the starter tracker

  1. Print a copy and keep it on a clipboard in your kitchen, or punch holes and add it to your recipe binder.
  2. Each time you feed your starter, write down the date and time.
  3. Track the consistency, bubbles, and rise.
  4. After 10 days, you will see your new starter ready for baking.

Pro tip: If your starter takes longer to mature, print my daily sourdough starter log to track each feeding.

This will print the background tan color and takes up most of the page.. leaves the tracker so small, need a magnifying glass to see it. Please make it so it can be copied and not print the 2 wheat stalks with the tan background. Thanks Clint
